The 38th National Games will get underway from January 28 and will conclude on February 14, with Uttarakhand bagging the hosting rights, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) announced. (More Sports News)
The National Games of India is an Olympic-style multi-sport event, that includes athletes from various states and union territories battling out for medals. In the upcoming Games, the event will feature 32 sporting disciplines and four demonstration events.
"The 38th National Games in Uttarakhand promise to be a landmark event in promoting both traditional and modern sports in India," IOA president PT Usha said. "The inclusion of demonstration sports like kalarippayattu, yogasana, mallakhambh and rafting reflects our commitment to honouring India's rich heritage while encouraging new opportunities for athletes
The last edition was held in Goa across five cities - Mapusa, Margao, Panjim, Ponda and Vasco in 2023. Maharashtra topped the Games with 228 medals, including 80 gold medals.
The 2025 edition will feature over 10,000 athletes, officials, from various states and teams like Services, that will compete in medal events in 38 sports.

All the games will be played at The Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Dehradun and will take place from January 28 to February 14, 2025.

The National Games 2025 is expected to be telecast on the Doordarshan network in India. Live streaming and highlights will be available on JioCinema and YouTube channels.
